The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is now available from Your First Aid Safety Training, and is HSE compliant. The course is designed to provide first aid training that will enable you to give safe, prompt and effective first aid to a casualty at work, following injury or illness. We can either provide training in your place of work, or at a convenient venue.
This course is for people nominated as an Emergency First Aider, at work. It is also useful for anyone wishing to gain knowledge of emergency first aid procedures, and provides a recognized qualification.

Following ongoing assessment by the trainer, and on successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate that is valid for three years.
Although this certificate is valid for three years, the HSE strongly recommend that an Annual Refresher course should be attended after years one and two, and on the third year a full course should be re-taken to obtain another valid certificate.

Our Emergency First Aid at Work course has been tailored to include additional subjects specifically designed to meet the needs of schools. The course is designed to provide first aid training to teachers, TAs and other attendees, enabling you to give emergency first aid to a child or colleague following injury or illness.
This is designed for people who have been nominated as an Emergency First Aid at Work person. It is also suitable for anyone wishing to gain knowledge and a recognized qualification in emergency first aid. For schools it is a vital part of health and safety.

FIRE SAFETY TRAINING

The Course aim is to enable staff to manage a fire or other similar emergency efficiently and effectively to meet the legal requirements to train staff. This course has been designed with the core aim of creating a confident person to take charge in an emergency
This is a 3 ½ - 4 hour course, designed to enable employers to have competent people available to respond positively to an emergency, which may be created by a fire, gas, explosion or other emergency. Both fire safety and general health & safety duties require employers to prepare and plan for such eventualities.

- The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 as amended by the Fire Precaution Regulations 1999

Manual Handling

Who is the manual handling course aimed at?
Our manual handling training course, meets the needs of anyone lifting or carrying loads at work.
The course translates across all working sectors, all age groups, and forms part of the employers health and safety statutory requirement.
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 apply to a wide range of manual handling activities, including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying.
The load may be either inanimate - such as a box or a trolley, or animate - a person or an animal.
Our guidance gives useful, practical advice for employers, managers, safety representatives and individual attendees, on how to reduce the risk of injury from manual handling.
What will I gain from this course?
Attendees will complete the course with an understanding of the regulations as well as practical knowledge of lifting and moving.
They will be able to identify potential hazards and risks and determine the safest method of manual handling, without injury.
Managers and supervisors will be able to assess whether their work force are using current, safe working manual handling techniques.
As this is a half-day course, we can combine this course with any of our other half day courses such as Fire Safety or CPR Training

STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FPFF) refresher training, A-VI/1-2
STCW FPFF course provides training for candidates in fire prevention and firefighting, based on the guidelines of STCW 78/95, Section A-VI/1 and IMO Model Course 1.20. This course covers the requirements of STCW 78/95, Section A-VI/1, Par. 2, Table A-VI/2 on meeting the minimum standard of competence in fire prevention and firefighting. A trainee will be competent to take appropriate measures for the safety of personnel and ship and to use fire appliances correctly. The trainees will also acquire knowledge of fire prevention.
